About me
From academic research to high-level training at a prestigious French institute in translation (ESIT) and team management in a translation company, here is the path that drove me to work as a freelance translator today.
BA in English
After two years of French ‘Classes préparatoires’ (Preparatory Classes) in Humanities with an English major, I finished my BA at the University of Birmingham in the UK as part of the Erasmus programme.
Master’s degree in Anglophone studies at Paris IV – La Sorbonne
I wrote two research dissertations on social-realism in British cinema in the 1960s and 1980s respectively. I therefore had the opportunity to delve into anglophone academic literature and hone my writing skills, both in French and English.
Master’s degree in Editorial, Economical and Technical Translation at the Graduate School for Translation and Interpretation (ESIT, Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle)
Highly demanding and career-centred training. From 2014 to 2015, I was also the President of the Lingua ESIT Association, a Junior enterprise operating like a translation company.
Translator/Proofreader, then Quality Manager at CG Traduction & Interprétation, Versailles
Hired right after my ESIT Master’s internship. Initially employed as a Translator/Proofreader, I was then appointed Quality Manager: I managed the operational day-to-day tasks of the 5-person Translation team, as well as the relationships with external translators and clients: I proofread and delivered translations and managed feedback.
Independent translator!
I started my own company as an independent translator and proofreader in 2017, and I have been working full-time since. I have been a member of Société française des traducteurs (SFT), the main translators’ syndicate, as well as of the ESIT Alumni association (AAE ESIT) for several years.
